All Covid-19 travel restrictions have now been removed for travellers to Antigua. You are no longer required to:

Passport

Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months after the date of arrival in Antigua.

 

Visa

UK, EU and US passport holders can visit Antigua for up to 6 months without a visa.

You must have a return ticket or proof of onward travel, confirmed accommodation and enough funds to cover your planned stay.

Visa

You can visit the Bahamas for up to 21 days without a visa. This can be extended up to a maximum of 8 months by applying to the Department of Immigration in Nassau

If you're travelling to the Bahamas via the USA, you may need to apply for an ESTA. Time spent in the Bahamas counts towards the 90-day maximum permitted stay in the USA with an ESTA.

  • Quarantine on arrival

You must download the BIMSafe app which will help to streamline your travel experience. The BIMSafe app allows you to complete forms and health questionnaires, upload test results and show proof of your vaccinations.

You’ll be given a smart bracelet which works with the app to monitor your symptoms and ensure you, and those around you, enjoy a safe stay. Once you’ve completed your quarantine period, you may remove the bracelet. Please discard it in an environmentally friendly way at the airport, or keep it as a souvenir.

Entry requirements

 

Only Chinese citizens and foreign nationals with a valid visa issued outside Mainland China after 28 March 2020 or W, U, Y or C visas are allowed to travel.

We recommend you check directly with your destination's embassy or immigrations office to confirm you are eligible to travel.

Please visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China for detailed public health advice and requirements for entering mainland China. 

Pre-departure tests

1.    You will need proof of a negative Nucleic Acid and IgM Antibody tests taken within 48hours of departure from the UK. The tests must be from one of the institutions designated by the Chinese Embassy and Consulates-General in the UK (the list can be found here ) and originate from the same provider. Please visit the Chinese Embassy page before travelling.

2.    You will need to need to apply for Health Declaration Certificate online. For full instructions please visit: Online Application for Health Declaration Certificate. You will receive a  green health QR code with the "HS" mark from the Chinese consulate in the before boarding the flight.

Entry documents

You must present a completed "Exit/Entry Health Declaration Form" upon arrival. The form can be obtained before departure here

You are required to submit a health declaration form, which can be done with an online form, via WeChat or the China Customs mobile app. You are required to declare your health information within 24 hours before entry.

 

Covid-19 testing on arrival

You will be subject to health checks on arrival (likely involving nucleic acid or swab tests).

 

Quarantine

All arriving passengers, vaccinated and non-vaccinated, must quarantine upon arrival for 14 days. This will be in a government-selected facility at your own expense. This does not need to be pre booked as the CDC will assign the hotel rooms on arrival into china. 

Passport

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months when you enter China.

Visa

China's entry requirements differ, depending on your nationality and the reason for your visit. If you're not a Chinese national, you will usually need a visa to enter the country, which you should get before you travel

If you're staying for less than 6 days, you may not need a visa.

Visa exemptions for shorter visits

If you're due to leave China to travel to another country within 6 days of your arrival, you might not need a visa. You'll be allowed to stay within the administrative precincts of Shanghai Municipality, Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province for up to 144 hours.

On arrival in China, you'll need to show valid onward travel documents to the immigration officer, confirming your planned departure within this time period.

You need to be a resident of one of the following countries to be eligible for an exemption:

Information for UK passport holders

If you are a UK passport holder visiting China, your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of your visa application. If you have less than 6 months’ validity on your passport, but still have a valid visa, you should be able to enter China for the duration of that visa.

For all services operating to or from the United States, where the federal mask mandate on aircraft has been extended until 18 April, customers aged 2 and above must still maintain masks at all times, unless exempt.

For the following routes to or from the UK, masks are still required for customers aged 12 and above until further notice: Delhi, Islamabad, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Lahore, Lagos, Mumbai, Shanghai, Tel Aviv.

Across our network, we continue to adhere to all regulatory requirements both in the UK and in destination countries.

You will need to upload your test results to the WeChat Health Code app or at the Health Declaration Certificate website in order to obtain a QR code and an entry mark.

Due to the impact of COVID-19 and subsequent travel restrictions in destinations around the world, coupled with a sharp drop in customer demand, Virgin Atlantic is continually reviewing its flying programme.

Our flights are making a stop in Barbados before continuing to Grenada but you only have to meet the entry requirements for Grenada.

Please ensure you have a mask for boarding and disembarking and your destination airport. Masks remain available for anyone still wishing to wear one during the flight.

Grenada recommends using their contact tracing mobile app called 'Ronatrac'. Download it and register before you travel.

Entry requirements

Pre-departure requirements

You will need a negative result proof of a polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based nucleic acid test for COVID-19 conducted within 48 hours before the scheduled time of departure of your flight.

From 1 June you will no longer be required to carry proof of laboratory accreditation and also from this date, children under 3 years old do not need a PCR test. 

For full testing details, please check the Hong Kong Government website before travelling.

You will be required to present confirmation of a room reservation in a designated quarantine hotel for 7 nights.

 

Proof of vaccination

You must present a vaccination record issued by Hong Kong, or authority/recognised institution on the approved list.

The vaccination record must bear the name of the vaccinated traveller matching that in his/her valid travel document to show in Chinese or English that the relevant traveller has received dose(s) of COVID-19 vaccine, the date on which the last dose was administered, and the name of the vaccine administered.

If your vaccination record does not meet the above criteria, you must provide written confirmation in English or Chinese issued by the healthcare institution or a relevant authority of the government of the place where the vaccine was administered, bearing the name of the relevant vaccinated traveller matching that in his/her valid travel document and setting out all of the above information if the vaccination record is not in English or Chinese or does not contain all of the above information. The said written confirmation should be presented together with the vaccination record.

Travellers aged 12 to 17 years old, who have received a single dose of the BioNTech Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, at least 14 days before departure will be accepted for travel. They must follow the same requirements as fully vaccinated travellers. 

 

COVID-19 testing on arrival

Those arriving at Hong Kong International Airport will be required to proceed to the Temporary Specimen Collection Centre (TSCC) set up in the restricted area of the Airport for COVID-19 testing immediately upon arrival. They will need to stay at the TSCC to wait for test results.

Entry documents

Upon arrival into Hong Kong you’ll be required to show the following documents.

  • a recognised vaccination record.
  • a completed and submitted health declaration which can be completed online here. After submitting, the system will generate a QR code. Please save the result and show it to the border control point staff upon entering Hong Kong.
  • confirmation of a room reservation in a designated quarantine hotel for 7 nights

 

Quarantine

Upon arrival in Hong Kong, you will need to undergo a compulsory period of quarantine for 7 nights in a designated quarantine hotel. During your quarantine period, you will need to take four Covid-19 tests, and self-monitor during the subsequent seven days.

Your passport should be valid for at least one month after the date of your departure from Hong Kong.

 

Visa

Only fully vaccinated travellers holding a recognised vaccination record will be permitted entry into Hong Kong.

From 29th October, travellers aged 12 to 17 years old, who have received a single dose of the BioNTech Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, at least 14 days before departure will be accepted for travel. They must follow the same requirements as fully vaccinated travellers.

All foreign nationals and some foreign vistors can enter India on a new e-Tourist Visa/Tourist Visa. A list of the 156 eligable countries can be found on Indian Visas Online. Please check to ensure your eligbilty for travel. 

The new Tourist Visa can be used within 120 days of being granted for a single trip to India (single entry) with a maximum stay of 30 days. If your visa was issued before 06 October 2021 you must reapply as the Indian immigration service has cancelled this visa type.

Proof of Vaccination

If you are fully vaccinated, it is recommended that you carry with you proof of vaccination (such as an NHS Covid Pass,original US CDC card; or EU Digital COVID Certificate), although you do not need to be vaccinated to travel to India.

Pre-departure form

As of 22 November 2022 there is no longer a requirement to complete the Air Suvidha Self Declaration Form.

Passport

Information for visitors returning to India within 2 months

If you’re planning on returning to India within two months of your last visit, you will need special permission from a local Mission Post or Embassy (such as the Indian High Commission in London). Without this permission you could be denied entry, and returned to your country of origin at your own expense.

There are no Covid-19 travel restrictions for unvaccinated customers.

 

Pre departure forms

As of 22 November 2022 there is no longer a requirement to complete the Air Suvidha Self Declaration Form.

Information for visitors returning to India within 2 months

If you’re planning on returning to India within two months of your last visit, you will need special permission from a local Mission Post or Embassy (such as the Indian High Commission in London). Without this permission you could be denied entry, and returned to your country of origin at your own expense.

There are some exemptions that apply to the wearing of face masks or face coverings:

  • If you're travelling with, or providing assistance to, another person who relies on lip reading to communicate
  • Children 11 and under unless you are travelling to/from the US*

Pre-departure test

As of midnight May 21 2022, you no longer require to complete a Covid-19 test before or after your arrival into Israel.

Covid-19 testing on arrival

As of midnight May 21 2022, you'll no longer require to complete a Covid-19 test before or after your arrival into Israel. 

Quarantine

As of midnight May 21 2022, you'll no longer require to complete mandated 24 hour quarantine.   

Exit Statement Form 

All Israeli citizens and residents aged 16 years and older, must show clearance to leave Israel, you will receive the clearance after submitting the exit statement form

Passport

Your passport must be valid for the period of your intended stay. You may require longer validity by Embassy consular departments.

The Israeli border control won't stamp your passport. Instead, you'll be given a printed card called an "Electric Gate Pass". You'll need this in order to leave the arrival terminal and continue to collect your baggage. You are advised to keep the card with you at all times.

Your passport must be valid for the period of your intended stay. You may require longer validity by Embassy consular departments.

The Israeli border control won't stamp your passport. Instead, you'll be given a printed card called an "Electric Gate Pass". You'll need this in order to leave the arrival terminal and continue to collect your baggage. You are advised to keep the card with you at all times.

If you’re travelling to Pakistan on a British passport, you will need to get a visa before you travel. Visa violations can be treated as a criminal offence and could result in a fine or detention.

UK Emergency Travel Documents

UK Emergency Travel Documents (ETDs) are valid for entry into Pakistan. Holders of an ETD entering or leaving Pakistan will need to have either a valid visa or a National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) / Smart National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (SNICOP) issued by the government of Pakistan.

Requirements to enter the USA

 

The Biden administration has confirmed that the United States will reopen its borders for fully vaccinated international visitors from Monday 8 November. 

The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website has been updated with the entry requirements from 8 November.

Unless you're a US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or close family member (spouse, sibling, parent, guardian) you won't be permitted entry into the USA from the UK. This includes customers in transit.

Non-US citizens who have been in, or transited India in the last 14 days will not be permitted entry to the USA unless holding a valid F-1 or M-1 student visa and intending to begin or continue an academic program commencing August 1, 2021 or later. To be eligible for travel, students meeting above criteria then must book onto Virgin Atlantic services via the Delta website.

From Monday 8 November, fully vaccinated international visitors will be permitted entry into the United States. Limited exemptions to the vaccination requirement apply including children under 18.

Please ensure all regular entry requirements, such as an ESTA where applicable, are adhered to.

 

Pre-departure test

All customers aged 2 and over are required to present evidence of a negative PCR, LAMP or Antigen test taken no more than 3 days before departure. Pre-departure tests for the US can be at-home/remote, providing it’s via a telehealth service affiliated with the test manufacturer (i.e. video-observed) or administered in-person by a health professional

From 08 November, If travelling with a fully vaccinated adult, an unvaccinated child (17 years and under) can test within 3 days prior to departure. If an unvaccinated child is travelling alone or with unvaccinated adults, they will have to test within 1 day of departure.

Digital Passenger Disclosure and Attestation form

It is a legal requirement that all customers aged 2 years or older, travelling by air from the UK to the USA, must complete a Passenger Disclosure and Attestation form. This also includes any customers connecting through the USA. Parents or guardians may complete forms for passengers aged 2 to 17 years old.

You may complete the attestation form within 72 hours of your travel to the U.S. Please ensure this is completed before you get to the airport, as it will be checked by our Airport staff and you will not be permitted to travel without it.

To make this as easy as possible, you can now fill in the attestation form online. For those customers travelling on Virgin Atlantic operated flights connecting through the UK to the USA, you will need to complete the form before you board the first sector of your journey to the USA.

Proof of vaccination

From Monday 8 November, visitors aged 18 and above will be required to show proof of vaccination in order to be permitted travel. To be considered fully vaccinated, 14 days must have passed since your single dose vaccine or second dose of a 2-dose series.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has determined that for purposes of travel to the United States, vaccines accepted will include the following FDA approved or authorized and World Health Organization (WHO) emergency use listed (EUL) vaccines.

Single dose: Janssen/J&J

2 dose series: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Covishield, BIBP/Sinopharm & Sinovac.

Accepted proof of vaccination includes the NHS COVID Pass, EU Digital COVID Certificate and original CDC vaccination record card. Non verifiable records must include the following.

  • Personal identifiers (at a minimum, full name, and date of birth) that match the personal identifiers on the passenger’s passport or other travel documents
  • Name of official source issuing the record (e.g., public health agency, government agency, or other authorised vaccine provider)
  • Vaccine manufacturer and date(s) of vaccination

 

Quarantine

Quarantine requirements may be enforced and can vary depending on the state you’re travelling to. Please check the requirements of the local state you're arriving in before you travel.

These rules will change from Monday 8 November when fully vaccinated visitors will be permitted entry into the US.

From 08 November only US citizens, US nationals, US Lawful Permanent Residents, and Immigrants will be permitted travel if unvaccinated.

Pre-departure test

All customers aged 2 and over are required to present evidence of a negative PCR, LAMP or Antigen test taken no more than 3 days before departure. Self-tests must be FDA approved and include a telehealth service for remote supervision via video call.

From 08 November, the pre departure testing timeframe will reduce for unvaccinated customers. From this date you will be required to present evidence of a negative Covid-19 test (including lateral flow antigen or PCR) taken no more than 1 day before departure. 

If travelling with a fully vaccinated adult, an unvaccinated child (17 years and under) can test within 3 days prior to departure. If an unvaccinated child is travelling alone or with unvaccinated adults, they will have to test within 1 day of departure.

Pre departure forms

Digital Passenger Disclosure and Attestation form

It is a legal requirement that all customers aged 2 years or older, travelling by air from the UK to the USA, must complete a Passenger Disclosure and Attestation form. This also includes any customers connecting through the USA. Parents or guardians may complete forms for passengers aged 2 to 17 years old.

You can complete the attestation form within 72 hours of your travel to the U.S. A paper form will be available to download online or you can complete this on the day at the airport.

 

Covid-19 testing on arrival

There is no current requirement for Covid-19 testing on arrival.

From 08 November, unvaccinated non-US citizens who are exempt from the vaccination requirement will need to take a Covid-19 test 3 – 5 days after arrival.

 

Quarantine

Quarantine requirements may be enforced and can vary depending on the state you’re travelling to. Please check the requirements of the local state you're arriving in before you travel.

From 08 November, unvaccinated foreign nationals will be required to self-quarantine for 7 days. Self-quarantine does not apply to unvaccinated foreign nationals under the age of 18.

 

Passport

Your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay.

 

Visa

Customers cannot currently travel to the USA on an ESTA

Non-US citizens who have been in, or transited India in the last 14 days will not be permitted entry to the USA unless holding a valid F-1 or M-1 student visa, and intending to begin or continue an academic program commencing August 1, 2021 or later. By law, all customers visiting the USA aged two and above must always wear a face covering during their time at the airport and onboard the aircraft.

If you’re not wearing a face mask at any stage, or you refuse to wear a face covering, you won't be allowed to travel and criminal or civil action will be taken against you.

Exemptions:

  • When asked to remove your face mask temporarily for identity verification purposes
  • For brief periods while eating, drinking or taking oral medication
  • While communicating with a person who is hearing impaired and the need for lip reading is essential for communication
  • If unconscious, incapacitated, unable to be awakened, or otherwise unable to remove the face mask without assistance
  • Children under the age of 2
  • A person with documented evidence from a medical professional to not wear a face mask such as a disability, mental health condition, respiratory condition or sensory sensitivity condition that prevents them from wearing a face mask
