Due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East, we have the below policy available to offer customers flexibility. We have also negotiated some rebooking options with EK, should your customers still wish to travel. Guidance on this policy can be found below.

Our schedule change policy can assist those with a ticketed booking when applying for a full refund.

  • This policy is to allow customers ticketed on 932 ticket stock more flexibility in addition to the original fare rules
  • Customers must advise of changes to their travel plans ahead of their travel date, or no-show policy will apply as per fare rules
  • Travel is permitted on an earlier date, with no fees, if the date is within the guidelines of this bulletin
  • Changing return travel date to maintain travel duration is allowed. Changes fees and fare difference charges are waived
  • Fare difference must include all taxes/charges
  • If your customers flight is still operating, booking cancellations, refunds and downgrades are subject to the original fare rules, unless permitted by this policy – whichever is the most flexible
  • If your customers flight has been cancelled, please follow the Irregular Operation (IROP) guidelines within our Schedule Change Policy to rebook or refund your customers tickets

Action customers should take if wanting to fly prior to the suspension of services:

  • We would recommend that all customers who are due to travel to or from Dubai and Riyadh over the next 48 hours check the status of their flight here before going to the airport.
  • As well as submitting the government form we at Virgin Atlantic would encourage customers who are currently away from home to complete our 'Away from Home form' so we are aware of customers circumstances and can prioritise them for repatriation once we can operate flights safely. Whilst we cannot guarantee immediate re-accommodation, we will work to offer the earliest suitable option once flights are operating.

There is no need for customers to contact our Customer Centre once they have registered. Providing they have submitted accurate contact details in the form, we will remain in contact with them and provide updates as the situation develops, including when we are able to confirm travel arrangements.

Our teams are actively planning for the safe return of customers as soon as conditions allow.

We will continue to monitor the situation in the Middle East with ongoing dynamic assessments and active changes to our flight routings based on the latest information and guidance, if required. Please check back here for the latest information.

The safety and security of our customers and people is always our top priority and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
