You can pay to check in extra bags (weighing up to 23kg each) per person over and above any free baggage allowance you may have. See our table below which outlines additional cost should you wish to check in extra baggage.

Charges for additional baggage are applied based on your original departure point if you are departing from UK or US. If originating elsewhere then the British pound rate will be applied and converted to local currency.

Additional baggage charges are per flight and can be purchased whilst checking in online or at one of our airport kiosks.

NOTE: If you are travelling on a VS* codeshare flight connecting to or from the US (operated by one of our partner airlines), then as the marketing carrier, Virgin Atlantic's baggage allowance applies.

If you're travelling in Economy Light, you can choose a standard seat online for free during online check in. Online check in opens 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

If you're travelling in Economy Classic, Economy Delight, Premium or Upper Class, then you can choose your seat for free at any time.

You may cancel your booking without penalty within 24 hours of making your reservation. Please call the Customer Service Centre to cancel your booking.

If you have a flexible or semi-flexible ticket you can change the date outside of this timeframe. Fees vary so you should contact your travel agent or our Customer Service Centre for specific information.

If you are due to travel within 7 days of making your booking, you may incur a date change fee.

Charges apply for upgrades, which vary in price per cabin and can fluctuate at any time, depending on market conditions. A cost to upgrade can range between £1 and £13,000 or the local currency equivalent.
