Our fully flexible booking policy

Virgin HolidaysVirgin Atlantic

Our flexible booking policy gives you the freedom to book with confidence, knowing you can make changes if you need to, without any admin charges.

For all flights booked with Virgin Atlantic and package holidays purchased from Virgin Holidays on or after 16 February 2022 for travel up to 31st August 2022, you can change your dates as many times as you need to*, including changing your destination or make one name change** if you’d like someone else to benefit from your ticket.

You’ll just need to make sure your new travel dates take place by 31st December 2023, and that any changes are made before your original departure date (four weeks before your Virgin Holidays package holiday).

*Please note that fare difference charges (the additional cost of airfare, taxes, and airline fees, on your reissued airline ticket) may be applicable when changing your booking.

**Name changes can only be applied on tickets which have not yet been used for travel, this does not extend to part travelled tickets.

Which policy applies to me?

Flight bookings

The options available to you may differ slightly depending on when you made your flight booking, and the type of ticket you have. The ability to make unlimited date changes without admin fees applies to Virgin Atlantic bookings made on or after 3rd March 2021. If you booked before this and would like to make a change, check out our earlier policies.

Package holiday bookings

The options available to you may differ depending on when you are due to travel. All up to date details can be found here, and we will contact you directly if your booking is affected by any recent changes.

Do bear in mind that any new travel arrangements are subject to availability, and there may be a difference to pay if you change your dates or cabin, and the new ticket price is higher. There may be other charges to pay under our standard Virgin Holidays terms and conditions or on the conditions of carriage for Virgin Atlantic

If your flights are cancelled please refer to our flight disruptions page for more information, or refer to your cancellation options

How to rebook

We won't charge admin fees if you wish to change your travel dates or choose a different destination, but you may need to pay any difference in fare.

You may prefer to change passenger names if you would like someone else to benefit from your booking, and that's ok too.

We’ve made it even easier to rebook when you’re ready by introducing our new rebooking bot and web messaging service.

Not ready to rebook?

We understand that you may be unsure of your travel plans. You don’t have to decide right now; For bookings made on or after 23rd December 2021 you can convert to a Travel Voucher which can be used up until 31 December 2023.

If your booking was made prior to 23rd December 2021 you can convert to a Travel Voucher which can be used up until 30 April 2023.

The value of your Travel Voucher will be the equivalent to your cancelled booking, and this also includes flights purchased with Flying Club points.

You can use your Travel Voucher to purchase a future Virgin Atlantic flight to any of our destinations and in a different cabin. You can even make a booking for someone else using your Travel Voucher. If the new ticket price is greater than the voucher value, you just need to pay the difference in fare.

Once we receive and action your request, we’ll update your booking and send you confirmation. Please don’t worry if it takes a few days to get back to you, just keep your booking reference safe. If you are travelling imminently or think

If rebooking or rerouting is not suitable for you, our team can also discuss other options with you.

Our flight disruption policy

If your holiday plans change, that’s okay. We have a flexible booking policy, and you can change the dates, the destination and even who is travelling with no admin fees.

The overall cost of your holiday may change depending on when and where you wish to travel, in which case you'll need to meet any increase in holiday cost. Likewise, if the cost of the holiday decreases, then we will refund the difference.

Need more time to decide? You can cancel your holiday and receive one of our holiday vouchers instead. That way, you'll keep the full value of your holiday (less any non-changeable aspects) without any cancellation charges, in line with our normal booking terms and conditions.

To make a change to your holiday booking, please contact us.

Cancellations and refunds

It remains a dynamic time for International travel, and we continue to review our holiday schedules regularly and monitor the Covid-19 situation closely. We'll be in touch with you if your holiday is affected.

  • It becomes necessary to quarantine on arrival at your destination

Payment flexibility

If you’ve missed a payment or just need a little more time, don't worry. We have options available to help.

  • If you are travelling up to 31st March 2022, you have until eight weeks before your departure instead of 12 to pay the balance.

  • For holidays departing from 1st April onwards, please settle your balance 12 weeks before you are due to travel.
  • Alternatively, you can give yourself more time to pay by postponing your holiday to a later date.
  • If your holiday is more than 6 months away, make things easier to manage by setting up a Direct Debit and spreading the cost.
