Temporary changes to our onboard service

We’ve redesigned our food and drink service limiting interaction for your safety and wellbeing. It has been prepared and packaged with the highest possible standards of hygiene in mind. It may be look a bit different, but we will have a mouth-watering selection of dishes for you to enjoy.

Our new services include:

  • A hot meal service with a choice of entrees, cheese, crackers and a delicious dessert, served with a selection of wine and beer
  • A second service – Afternoon Tea on day flights and Breakfast on night flights, served with a selection of hot tea and coffee
  • Water, juice, soft drinks throughout your flight

Note that during this time, our Pre-Select and Dietary Meals services are suspended and that customers are advised to bring their own food and snacks should our mainline offering not be suitable.

In the meantime, you can still expect a warm Virgin Atlantic welcome from our teams on the ground and in the air. Thank you so much for your support and understanding — it means the world to us right now and we look forward to being able to offer you the full Virgin Atlantic experience again soon.

Eating and drinking on our flights is a kind of a big deal. We spend a lot of time, thought and effort creating our award winning meal service, with a painstakingly curated drinks menu to perfectly accompany it.

We serve millions of meals onboard every year, so it’s important to us that we provide the finest food and drink experience while ensuring our meals are sourced responsibly. We like to think of it as “thoughtful food”. Working with the Sustainable Restaurant Association, we’ve created comprehensive sustainability criteria for our onboard food. Almost 63% of our flights are served by caterers who meet all of our criteria, and we’re continuing to work with all our caterers to increase this even further.
