From 30th October 2024 you’ll be able to use your Virgin Points for any seat onboard, giving you limitless choice and flexibility when planning your next trip. So, the only thing left to think about will be where you’ll land next.

They’re your points after all, and you should have the freedom to use them whenever you like, no matter how popular or last-minute your chosen flight is. So, from 30th October, every seat onboard, on any date, will be available to pay for with Virgin Points. With prices that vary based on demand, just like money, you’ll be able to search for any flight you like and see the cost in points or pounds.

Our new Saver reward seats will be available across thousands of flights. And they will start from prices even lower than reward seats today, with flights to New York from just 6,000 points* one way.

Upgrade with points any time

Whether you feel like a little extra legroom or going all-out in Upper Class, upgrading with points will be easier too, whether you bought your original seat with points or money.  Upgrade to any available Premium or Upper Class seat to enjoy a touch of the high life.  How many points you need to upgrade will also vary based on demand.

The nuts and bolts

Yes, the changes launch from 30th October. ‘Til then, all Virgin Atlantic flights will still go on sale with a guaranteed minimum of twelve reward seats, and you can book them in the usual way, at the current flat rate. From 30th October, they’ll all be available with points, at a points price that varies based on demand.

Yes, changes to points upgrades start from 30th October. Until then nothing changes, you can still upgrade with points on Virgin Atlantic flights subject to availability in the higher cabin. To book, please contact us via web chat by logging into My Booking. Alternatively, you can call us.

Yes, if you’ve already booked using points, there are no changes to your reward seat booking.

Yes, bookings made before 30th October, paid for in money or Points Plus Money, will earn Virgin Points at the current earn rate.

You can continue to book Gold reward seats up to 30th October, and any existing bookings made before that date will, of course, be honoured. After that date, every seat will be available to buy with points anyway, with the added benefit of being able to use your Flying Club reward voucher – worth up to 150,000 points for Gold members – to get you there.  

Companion and Upgrade vouchers earned through your Virgin Atlantic Credit Card or your Gold Status are being simplified. They will all be known as Flying Club reward vouchers, with a maximum points value that can be used against any seat purchase or upgrade. For more info, head to our dedicated voucher page.
