Our fully flexible booking policy

Virgin HolidaysVirgin Atlantic

Our flexible booking policy gives you the freedom to book with confidence, knowing you can make changes if you need to, without any admin charges.

For all flights and holidays up to 30th April 2022, you can change your dates as often as you like*. You can even choose a different destination or make one name change** (if you’d like someone else to benefit from your ticket).

You’ll just need to make sure you travel by 30th April 2023, and make any changes before your original departure date (three weeks before your Virgin Holiday).

This policy applies to bookings made, on or after 3rd March 2021. If you booked before this and would like to make a change, check out our earlier policies.

Do bear in mind that any new travel arrangements are subject to availability, and there may be a fare difference to pay if you change your dates and the new fare is higher. There may be other charges to pay under our standard terms and conditions.

If your flights are cancelled please refer to our flight disruptions page for more information.

How to rebook

If you booked directly with us, you can use our Rebook my flights form. We'll check availability for your chosen destination and dates, and if there's no fare difference to pay, we’ll update your booking and email your new eTicket. If we need to speak to you about anything, we'll get in touch via WhatsApp or SMS within 7 days to complete the process.

Not ready to rebook?

We understand that you may be unsure of your travel plans. You don’t have to decide right now; you can convert to a Travel Voucher which can be used up until 30 April 2023.

The value of your Travel Voucher will be the equivalent to your cancelled booking, and this also includes flights purchased with Flying Club points.

You can use your voucher to purchase a future Virgin Atlantic flight to any of our destinations. You can even make a booking for someone else using your Travel Voucher. If the new ticket price is greater than the voucher value, you just need to pay the difference in fare.

If your plans change, that’s okay. You can change the dates, the destination and even who is travelling with no admin fees (although there may be a difference to pay if your new holiday is more expensive).

Need more time to decide? You can cancel your holiday and receive a voucher instead. That way, you'll keep the full value of your holiday (less any non-changeable aspects) without any cancellation charges, in line with our normal booking terms and conditions.

Payment flexibility

If you’ve missed a payment or just need a little more time, don't worry. We have options available to help.

  • If your holiday is before 31st August 2021, you now have until six weeks before your departure instead of 12 to pay the balance.
  • Alternatively, you can give yourself more time to pay by postponing your holiday to a later date.
  • If your holiday is more than 6 months away, make things easier to manage by setting up a Direct Debit and spreading the cost.

Cancellations and refunds

You’ll be entitled to a full refund of your holiday within 14 days if:

  • We cancel your holiday
  • UK Government restrictions make it illegal to travel abroad
  • The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advise against non-essential travel
  • It becomes necessary to quarantine on arrival at your destination
  • Your holiday destination is placed on the Red List and it becomes necessary to quarantine at a managed quarantine hotel on your return to the UK

If your flight has been cancelled

If your cancelled holiday includes a flight, you'll automatically receive an ATOL protected Refund Credit Voucher, which can be used to book a new holiday up to 30th September 2021. If you don't use it, we'll send you a refund anyway.

Find your voucher in Manage my booking, make a note of the unique code and head over to our website www.virginholidays.co.uk to start planning your next getaway. Once you’ve decided where and when you want to go, simply apply your voucher code at the checkout.

Voucher terms and conditions apply.

If your Virgin Holiday is planned to go ahead

If you still want to cancel, we understand. Please bear in mind that our standard cancellation terms and conditions apply, and you may only be eligible for a partial refund.

You can cancel your holiday for a voucher instead up until three weeks before you fly.

There's no expiry date to use your voucher, you'll just need to make sure you book to travel by 30th April 2023.

The Virgin Holidays team are here seven days a week and we're ready to help. To speak to us about your options, please contact us
