On 1st April 2023, we will be returning to our standard requirements for the number of Tier Points you need to earn to renew or upgrade your membership tier. We have pulled together some common questions and answers about this that we think you might find useful.

On 1st April 2022, we made a temporary change to Flying Club to ensure it was easier to move up through the membership tiers while travel was returning to normal. This included reducing the number of Tier Points to renew or upgrade your status for 12 months.

From 1st April 2023, our standard Tier Point threshold requirements apply:

  • Renewing or upgrading to Silver will increase from 300 to 400 Tier Points

  • Renewing or upgrading to Gold will increase from 800 to 1,000 Tier Points

This change applies to all Flying Club members

If your tier end date is before 1st April 2023, you will need:

  • 300 Tier Points by your tier end date to renew Silver

  • 800 Tier Points by your tier end date to renew Gold

If your tier end date is on or after 1st April 2023, you will need:

  • 400 Tier Points by your tier end date to renew Silver

  • 1,000 Tier Points by your tier end date to renew Gold

To upgrade from Red to Silver before 1st April 2023, you will need to earn 300 Tier Points in your upgrade cycle.

To upgrade from Silver to Gold before 1st April 2023, you will need to earn 800 Tier Points in your upgrade cycle.

Your upgrade cycle is calculated from the current date of the month, to the 1st day of the same month in the previous year.

Log in to your Flying Club account online or via the Virgin Atlantic app and find your membership end date under Tier Points on your Account page

For renewals, your status renewal will be applied at the end of your membership year

For upgrades between tiers, your upgraded status will be applied on the date the qualifying Tier Points reach your account
